Anti-lock brakes (abs) are an essential safety feature in any vehicle. They assist drivers in maintaining control in emergency situations, which aids in the prevention of accidents. Stopping on slippery surfaces without abs can cause your vehicle to lose steering or traction possibly leading to skidding in a different direction then intended. It is so important to keep brakes in proper working order. Some common issues with abs are damaged wires, broken abs controller or speed sensor, corrosion in the valve assembly caused by contaminated fluid, or even incorrect tire size. Anti-lock brakes are complicated and require proper handling. Having it fixed is a job best left the tech's here at Integrity Auto. We recommend braking gently for the first 40 to 50 miles of driving on new pads. This will allow them to adjust to the rotors and help prevent squeaking. While it's a safe practice to use rotors worn or machined to the manufacture's minimum specification, brake pedal pulsation is more likely to occur with thinner rotors. If your vehicle is prone to brake pedal pulsation issues, you may be better off replacing worn rotors than re-machining them. Brake repairs are commonly offered at promotional prices that may be lower than the RepairPrice Estimate. Make sure you understand exactly which services are included/excluded in the advertised price.
Worn brake pads can result in a loud squeaking or grinding noise while driving, especially at low speeds. Replacing your brake pads early may prevent the brake rotors from being worn or damaged beyond repair.
